A new Tribal Monitoring Station was recently inaugurated in Sitio Nangka, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, marking a significant step in collaborative environmental stewardship. Led by PMC/MMPRC Vice President Engr. A. Cortes and Resident Manager Engr. Alvin B. Castaños, key stakeholders – including representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office, Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Indigenous Peoples groups, local government units (municipal and barangay), the Provincial Government Office, and various non-government organizations – were invited to have a meaningful discussion on the relevant views on the environmental, social and economic impact of the planned expansion. The issues and concerns raised during the Public Scoping will be carefully considered in decision-making, ensuring that mitigation measures, development benefits, and opportunities for affected communities are effectively addressed.
