MMPRC Retains ISO 14001:2015 Certification

ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR—Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation (MMPRC) has retained its ISO 14001:2015 Certification from Certification International Philippines, Inc. (CIP) after passing the Environmental Management System (EMS) Second External Surveillance Audit. The auditors, Hon. Ofelia B. Domingo and Engr. Arnel D. Guevara conducted the three-day audit, which concluded on April 4, 2024. The audit thoroughly evaluated the company's environmental management system, emphasizing MMPRC's ongoing commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in environmental responsibility. MMPRC's key personnel actively participated in the audit process, demonstrating their commitment to leadership. The company's president, Atty. Raul C. Villanueva was represented by MMPRC Vice President Engr. Ferdinand A. Cortes, MMPRC Senior AVP/Resident Manager Engr. Alvin B. Castaños, MMPRC AVP/General Manager - Engr. Jonnel A. De Torres and the rest of the EMS Working Committee. Their dedication ensured the smooth progress of the audit and provided all necessary information to the auditors.

Second External Surveillance Audit

The audit thoroughly evaluated the company’s management system in demonstrating the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. Attended by the company’s key personnel PMC Vice President – Engr. Ferdinand A. Cortes, PMC Senior AVP/Resident Manager – Engr. Alvin B. Castaños, PMC Division Managers, and the rest of the EMS Working Committee actively participated in the audit process.

Empowering Bayugan 3 Women Towards Safety

ROSARIO, AGUSAN DEL SUR – As the country celebrates National Women’s Month for 2024, the Compliance and Emergency Management Section of Philsaga Mining Corporation Conducts Safety Awareness for Bayugan 3 Women’s Association during their Culmination day at Bayugan 3 Barangay Gymnasium. Through safety symposiums in regards to simple Hazard Identification Response and Control, First-Aid Response to Child choke, and usage of fire extinguishers and fire response suitable for their households, mothers gained confidence in essential safety in their daily routine at home.

BUNAWAN, AGUSAN DEL SUR – On March 6, 2024, at the PAMO-AMWS, IPAS Complex, the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement sealed the commitment for the protection and preservation of Agusan Marsh Wetland Sanctuary. This event also marks one of the significant partnership between the key stakeholders, the Protected Area Management Office – Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary, Philsaga Mining Corporation, represented by PMC Vice President – Engr. Ferdinand A. Cortes, DENR Caraga Regional Office – Regional Executive Director, Nonito N. Tamayo, DENR PENRO – Norman A. Asugan, and the KBLAMLO Peoples Organization – Chairman, Remy “Datu Kanimbaylan” M. Reyes.

Philsaga Mining Corporation Fire Prevention Month 2024 Kick-Off

BUNAWAN, AGUSAN DEL SUR – On March 2, 2024, the Philsaga Mining Corporation TIGERS joined the Kick-Off and Opening Ceremony for the Fire Prevention Month of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Bunawan Municipal Quadrangle. With the theme “Sa pag-iwas sa sunog, Di ka nag-iisa,” the celebration aims to promote a united and fire-free community. In relation to the fire prevention month spearheaded by SFO3 Benedicto C. Function Jr. PMC will also launch the company-wide celebration of fire prevention competitions with the active participation of the employees and personnel starting this March 8-21, 2024, organized by the Compliance and Emergency Management section.

TIGERS Return to Masara: Relief Goods for the Landslide Victims

MACO, DAVAO DE ORO - It is not over, as the help continues to extend towards the affected residents of Masara with the second distribution of relief goods. The combined efforts of the PMC-MMPRC Foundation, Incorporated with the Philsaga Mining Corporation, Vitrinite, and PMC Press Corps brought over mats, blankets, clothes, 5 kilos of rice, and food packs to benefit 1000 families to aid the depleting supplies.
