Forty department heads and representatives of Philsaga Mining Corporation attended the 2023 Basic Incident Command System Training held last October 19-21, at Safety Training Hall, Consuelo, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur.

The training was initiated by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management of Agusan del Sur headed by Engr. Dante D Sayon, instructor and Training Course Monitor, with his colleagues. The team guided the participants to obtain knowledge, skills and attitude that are essential for the application of basic concepts and principles of ICS and disaster situation. The training likewise included sessions on how to manage planned events and major incidents, determine the essentials in managing resources in ICS, understand the consideration for incident and event planning, the use of transfer of command, demobilization and close-out. The training ended with an actual planning session for incident action plan as the participants’ final output.

In compliance with the Bureau of Mines and Geosciences requirements, PMC held the ICS training to fully prepare and equip the heads for any emergency incidents and making them as incident managers of their units.” Ang kaning atong ICS system, dili ra man ni ma apply sa safety..(ug) emergency (lang). I’m sure na kani na training ma apply nato sa ato kaugalingon na departments.”, emphasized by Engr. Clement M. Chiu, the Safety And Health Manager as he gave his closing remarks.
